Financial and economic literacy of seniors in Šluknov

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je vytvoření vzdělávací akce, zaměřené na finanční gramotnost seniorů. Finanční gramotnost patří k základním znalostem moderního člověka. Stát v posledních letech vyvíjí intenzivní snahy o vzdělávání populace v této oblasti. Mnou vybraná skupina, senioři, jakkoli tvoří významnou část populace, nejsou tímto úsilím dotčeni. Senioři jsou proto ohroženější skupinou obyvatel než jiné, čehož využívají nejrůznější podnikavci. Proto jsem provedla šetření zaměřené na finanční gramotnost seniorů. Cílem tohoto šetření bylo zjistit potenciálně rizikové oblasti, kde seniorům chybí finanční gramotnost nejvíc. Výsledky šetření ukázaly tyto nedostatky v oblasti úvěrů, krátkodobých půjček a prodejních akcí. Vzdělávací akce je vytvořena jako soubor hraných scének. Po každé scénce jsou položeny otázky k diskusi a soubor doporučení, které mají účastníkům přinést nové informace. Vytvořila jsem vzdělávací obsah pro zvýšení finanční gramotnosti seniorů, a pokud by byl používán, měl by přispět k lepšímu a kvalifikovanějšímu rozhodování seniorů ve finančních otázkách a ke zvýšení jejich odolnosti vůči agresivním praktikám podnikavců.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to create educational events focused on financial literacy of seniors. Financial literacy are fundamental to a modern man. Recent years governments make efforts on education of the population in this area. The seniors, group of my interest, however constitute a significant portion of the population, are not affected by this effort. Seniors are therefore more vulnerable than other groups of population, and that is why they are confronted by various go-getters. I conducted a survey focusing on financial literacy of seniors. The aim of this investigation was to identify potentially hazardous areas where seniors lack the financial literacy the most. Results showed these deficiencies in loans, short-term loans and sales events. Educational events are created as a set of played short scenes. After each scene there are putted questions to discuss, and it brings a set of recommendations that bring new information to participants. I created educational content to increase financial literacy of seniors, and if it would be used, it should conduce to better and more qualified decision-making of seniors in financial matters and to increase their resistance against aggressive practices of go-getters.
