The Estates Society of the Principality of Opava (Troppau) in the Light of the Book of the Land Diet Proceedings from 1698-1704

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá stavovskou společností Opavského knížectví a obsahem jí držených zasedání zemských sněmů v rozmezí let 1698-1704. Jejím hlavním cílem je rozbor sněmovní agendy primárně sledovaného období, zhodnocení stavovských kompetencí při jejím projednávání, popis vývoje v rámci kontextu pobělohorské doby a panovnického absolutismu a porovnání s dalšími zeměmi Koruny české a dále také identifikace jednotlivých členů stavovské obce, kteří se ve vymezené době sněmů účastnili a podíleli se tím na zemské správě. K dosažení těchto záměrů bylo využito dostupné literatury k problematice stavovství, dějin Opavska a českých zemí v pobělohorském kontextu a absolutismu, literatura genealogická, topografická a heraldická a patřičné archivní prameny či pramenné edice.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis concerns itself with the estates society of the Principality of Opavia and proceedings of it´s Land Diet through the years 1698-1704. It´s main objective is the analysis of the Land Diet´s agenda during the stated period of time, evaluation of estates´ competences in course of the agenda´s discussion, the description of it´s development under the influence of post-White Mountain period and the then sovereign´s absolutism and the subsequential comparison with other lands of the Bohemian Crown and the identification of individual members of the estates society, who took part in Land Diet´s proceedings of said period, thus participating in Principality´s administration. To achieve this goals, relevant literary sources, covering the topics of the estates society, Opavian and Bohemian history in the post-White Mountain period´s and absolutism´s context, the geneaological, topographical and heraldic literature and relevant archival sources, were used.
