Cultural and Political Issues of India as a Former British Colony

Abstract:

In my bachelor thesis I describe consequences which were and still are caused by the fact that India was under the British rule. It has affected lives of Indian people as well as their cultural and political situation in their country. The thesis tries to go deeper into the problems and benefits which the British hegemony has brought to India and its people and gives evidence of the then situation in the form of the British and Indian literary works. It also contains some chapters on the topic of current political situation in India and its development since the time when India gained the indenpendence.
