Apollo and his cult in the Geometric and Archaic Period
Abstract:
Práca sa zaoberá kultom starogréckeho boha Apolóna v geometrickej a archaickej dobe antického Grécka. Cieľom je popis jednotlivých teórii o jeho pôvode, jeho hlavné funkcie a epitetá. Doplnkom práce je kapitola o najvýznamnejších kultových miestach, ako aj ranných archeologických dokladoch v podobe bronzových a mramorových sôch.
Abstract:
The thesis describes cult of one of the most important Ancient deity, Apollo, during the Geometric and Archaic periods in Greece. The main focus is on the origin of the cult, his functions, and titles. The additional chapter depicts the most famous cult places, as well as the early archaeological artefacts supporting the theories.
