Overseas and Autonomous Territories of the EU in European Integration Process

Abstract:

Přestože je Evropská unie tvořena 28 členskými státy, existují i jiná území, která mají k Evropské unii specifický vztah. Jedná se jednak o území, které jsou součástí Evropské unie - nejvzdálenější regiony (Guadeloupe, Francouzská Guyana, Mayotte, Réunion, Svatý Martin, Martinik, Azory, Madeira a Kanárské ostrovy), déle o území nacházející se pod správou nějaké členské země EU - přidružené zámořské země a území (Francouzská Polynésie, Svatý Bartoloměj, Nová Kaledonie, Wallis a Futuna, Saint Pierre a Miquelon, Francouzská jižní a antarktická území, Aruba, Curacąo, Saba, Bonaire, Svatý Eustach, Svatý Martin a Grónsko), území sui generis (Faerské ostrovy) a další území/oblasti (Alandské ostrovy, Helgoland, Büsingen, Ceuta, Melilla, hora Athos, Livigno a Campione d'Italia). Tato diplomová práce popisuje jakými výjimkami z práva EU tyto zámořské a autonomní území států EU disponují na základě stanovení pěti indikátorů, převážně se dotýkající stádií evropské integrace. Mezi těchto pět indikátorů patří - měnová unie, celní unie, zóna DPH, členství v Schengenském prostoru a občanství unie.

Abstract:

Although the European Union is made up of 28 Member States, there are other territories which have a special relationship with the European Union. These are, on the one hand, the territories of the European Union - the outermost regions (Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Mayotte, Réunion, Saint Martin, Martinique, Azores, Madeira and the Canary Islands), overseas countries and territories (French Polynesia, Saint Barthelemy, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, French Southern and Antarctic Territories, Aruba, Curacąo, Saba, Bonaire, Saint Eustach, Saint Martin and Greenland) and other territories / regions (Aland Islands, Heligoland, Büsingen, Ceuta, Melilla, Mount Athos, Livigno and Campione d'Italia). This diploma thesis describes some exceptions to the EU law that these overseas and autonomous territories of EU countries have on the basis of five indicators, mainly related to the stages of European integration. These five indicators include the monetary union, the customs union, the VAT zone, membership of the Schengen area and the citizenship of the Union.
