Voluntary Assistant Service in Families with Handicapped Children

Abstract:

Anotace: Předmětem práce je téma dobrovolná asistenční služba v rodinách s postiženými dětmi. Práce se zaměřuje na deskripci pomoci dobrovolných asistentů tak, jak ji vnímají samotní rodiče postižených dětí. Prostřednictvím této práce mohou dobrovolní asistenti nahlédnout na to, jak jejich pomoc vnímají rodiče postižených dětí. Teoretická část vymezuje oblast postižení, nejdříve obecně, poté se zaměřuje na situaci postiženého dítěte v rodině. Dále je zde popsáno dobrovolnictví v kontextu pomáhání rodinám s postiženými dětmi. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je soustředěna na vztah asistent - klient. Empirická část se věnuje kvalitativnímu výzkumu, který byl realizován formou několika rozhovorů s rodiči postižených dětí využívajících dobrovolnou asistenční službu. Analýza získaných dat se zaměřuje na popis subjektivního vnímání rodičů využívající asistenční služby. Hlavní důraz je dán na zisky rodiny z asistenční služby a vztah rodiny s dobrovolnými asistenty.

Abstract:

Summary: The subject of the work is how the voluntary assistant service helps families with handicapped children. Through this work, voluntary assistants can look at the facts, and how their help is perceived by parents of handicapped children. The theoretical part defines the field of handicap, at first in general, then looks at the situation of handicapped children in families. Further, there are described the volunteers in the context of helping in families with handicapped children. The last chapter of the theoretical part focuses on the relationship between the assistant and the client. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research, which was obtained by several interviews with parents of handicapped children using the voluntary assistant service. The analysis of this data focuses on description of subjective parent’s perception, who derive benefit from assistant service. The main emphasis is on how the family profits from assistant service and the relationship between the family and the assistants.
