Abstract:

Na internetu lze nalézt agregované informace o událostech na webových portálech, nicméně data na těchto portálech jsou vytvářena ručně. Velká část událostí je publikována pouze na místních webových stránkách a není nikde seskupena. Cílem této diplomové práce bylo analyzovat, navrhnout a implementovat Automatický globální kalendář, který bude schopen najít a parsovat události v prostředí českého internetu a zobrazovat je uživatelům. Toho lze docílit vytvořením univerzálního parseru, který analyzuje strukturu libovolné HTML stránky a získá z ní informace o událostech, zejména datum, název, místo a popis. K vyhledávání relevantních webových stránek podle zadaných uživatelských kritérií je použit vybraný internetový vyhledávač. Tento kalendář je schopný parsovat a kategorizovat různé typy dokumentů, například seznam událostí, samostatné události a události s harmonogramem. Nalezené událost jsou uložené v relační databázi pro možnou inspekci těchto dat. Předkládaná diplomová práce obsahuje praktickou implementaci a textovou část. Praktická implementace Automatického globálního kalendáře se skládá ze samostatné funkční části (aplikace Event Parser) a webové části (aplikace Global Calendar). Textová část popisuje podobné projekty a možné přístupy k řešení, použité techniky, analýzu, návrh a implementaci systému včetně podrobného vyhodnocení.

Abstract:

On the Internet, you can find aggregated information about events on event portals. However, data on these portals are created manually. Many events are only published on local web pages and are not aggregated anywhere. The goal of this master’s thesis is to analyse, design and implement an Automatic Global Calendar that is able to automatically find and parse events in the context of the Czech Internet and display them to the user. It is achieved by developing a universal parser, that can analyze the structure of any HTML web page in the context of the Czech Internet and retrieve information about events; mainly the date, title, place, and description. It uses a selected search engine to find relevant web pages based on given user criteria. This calendar is able to parse different types of documents, e.g. lists of events, descriptions of a single event, and timelines of events, and categorize them accordingly. Found events are stored in a relational database so they can be inspected. This master’s thesis consists of the practical implementation of the Automatic Global Calendar with separate functional (Event Parser application) and web parts (Global Calendar application), and a text part describing similar projects and possible approaches to the solution, techniques used, analyses, and the design and implementation of the system, and detailed evaluation.
