This master thesis deals with an emerging genre of a weblog. The aim of this thesis is to characterise a weblog as a new genre. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part introduces essential terms concerning a weblog as well as a framework for a web-mediated genre analysis drawn on Askehave and Nielsen's analysis. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá nově vznikajicím žánrem weblogu. Cílem práce je charakterizovat weblog jako nový žánr. Práce se dělí na dvě části. Teoretická část představuje klíčové pojmy týkající se weblogu a rovněž strukturální rámec pro analýzu webových žánru vycházející z analýzy lingvistek Askehave a Nielsen.
