Restoration of a Part of a Mural Painting "Ascension of Jesus Christ" in the Interior of the Chaple of Our Lady of Sorrows in Broumov, Olivětín

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce prezentuje restaurování části nástropní malby vyobrazující téma Nanebevstoupení Krista. Malba se nachází v kapli Bolestné Panny Marie v části Broumova zvané Olivětín. V kapli se nacházely dvě vrstvy maleb z různých časových období. Restaurována byla originální výmalba kaple pocházející z období baroka (z 18. století) jejím autorem je pravděpodobně Josef Hager (17261781). V rámci restaurátorského zásahu byla odstraněna přemalba z 19. století, která byla patrně vytvořena malířem Adolfem Tinzmannem (st./ml.). Práce je složena z restaurátorského průzkumu a dokumentace provedených zásahů, jenž jsou doplněny o fotografickou, grafickou i textovou přílohu. Rozšířená kapitola této práce se zabývá autory přemaleb z 19. století Adolfem Tinzmannem (st./ml.). Její náplní jsou životopisné údaje malířů a dokumentace dalších nalezených realizací a jejich stavu dochování.

Abstract:

The bachelor´s thesis is focused on the restoration of a part of a ceiling painting depicting Ascension of Christ. The painting is located in the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows in a part of Broumov called Olivětín. There were two layers of paintings from different periods of time. The original painting from the Baroque period (from the 18th century) was restored and it is probably executed by Josef Hager(17261781). During the restoration the painting from the 19th centurywas removed, which is probably created by the painter Adolf Tinzmann (sen./jun.) The thesis is composed of restoration research and documentation of the treatment, which is complemented with photographic, graphical and textual supplement. An extended chapter of thethesis deals with the author of the overpainting from the 19th century by Adolf Tinzmann (sen./jun.). It contains biographical data of the painters and documentation of other discoveredexecutions and their state of preservation.
