Lack of employees in hotel and gastronomy as a social problem of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of labor shortage in the hotel industry and gastronomy as a social problem of the Czech Republic. The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze and evaluate the wage situation of workers in the field of hospitality and gastronomy, and at the same time find out, if this situation is the main problem of lack of employees in this industry. In order to evaluate the hypothesis we state in this diploma thesis, a detailed analysis of wages of workers in the sector and their subsequent comparison with other labor sectors is necessary. The diploma thesis is divided into three parts. The first is the theoretical part, which contains a research of literature needed for better orientation in the issue. We will find in it the characteristics of hospitality, gastronomy, fluctuation, unemployment, categorization of accommodation and catering facilities, division of types of employees as well as wages and their division. The following, analytical part is devoted to the analysis of wages of workers in the hotel and gastronomy industry and their subsequent comparison with the wages of other industries. At the same time, it involves the analysis of questionnaire, by which we got the data needed for our research. The design part contains suggestions for improving the issue of labor shortages in the field of hospitality and gastronomy.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá problematikou nedostatku pracovných síl v hotelierstve a gastronómii ako sociálnym problémom Českej republiky. Cieľom diplomovej práce je analyzovať a zhodnotiť mzdovú situáciu pracovníkov v odvetví hotelierstva a gastronómie, a zároveň zistiť, či je táto situácia hlavným problémom nedostatku pracovníkov v tomto odvetví. Aby mohlo dôjsť k vyhodnoteniu danej hypotézy, je nevyhnutná podrobná analýza miezd pracovníkov v odvetví a ich následná komparácia s ďalšími pracovnými odvetviami.Diplomová práca je rozdelená do troch častí. Prvá je teoretická časť, ktorá obsahuje rešerš literatúry potrebnej pre lepšie orientovanie sa v danej problematike. Nájdeme v nej charakteristiku hotelierstva a gastronómie, fluktuácie, nezamestnanosti, kategorizáciu ubytovacích a stravovacích zariadení, rozdelenie typov zamestnancov ako aj mzdy a ich delenie. Analytická časť je venovaná samotnej analýze miezd pracovníkov v hotelierstve a gastronómii a ich následnej komparácii so mzdami iných pracovných odvetví. Zároveň obsahuje analýzu dotazníkového šetrenia, ktorým sme získali dáta potrebné pre náš výskum. Návrhová časť prináša návrhy na zlepšenie problematiky nedostatku pracovných síl v oblasti hotelierstva a gastronómie.
