Burnout syndrome among psychologists in pedagogical-psychological counseling centers and its determinants

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahem mezi syndromem vyhoření a jeho determinantami u psychologů, kteří v současné době pracují v pedagogicko-psychologických poradnách. Determinantami jsou konkrétně délka praxe, ctnosti charakteru, jak je definují Peterson a Seligman (2004) a pracovní spokojenost. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na širší vymezení těchto pojmů. Kvantitativní výzkum byl uskutečněn na vzorku 67 psychologů, z nichž 64 byly ženy a 3 muži. Výzkum byl proveden prostřednictvím dotazníku Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), Dotazníku silných stránek charakteru a dotazníku Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ). Výsledky výzkumu naznačují, že existuje vztah mezi syndromem vyhoření a délkou praxe psychologů, ctností odvaha a s pracovní spokojeností. Podrobnější vyhodnocení výsledku je popsáno ve výzkumné části.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the relationship between burnout syndrome and its determinants in psychologists currently working in educational-psychological counselling centres. Specifically, the determinants are length of experience, character virtues as defined by Peterson and Seligman (2004), and job satisfaction. The theoretical part of the paper focuses on the broader definition of these concepts. Quantitative research was conducted on a sample of 67 psychologists, 64 of whom were female and 3 were male. The research was conducted using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), the Character Strengths Questionnaire, and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ). The results of the research suggest that there is a relationship between burnout syndrome and psychologists' length of practice, the virtue of courage, and with job satisfaction. A more detailed evaluation of the result is described in the research section.
