Diffraction on periodic structures

Abstract:

V této práci se zaměřujeme na studium monochromatického elektromagnetického záření procházejícího prostorově periodickou mřížkou se specifickou strukturou. Pro popis struktury difrakčního obrazce vytvořeného takovým typem mřížky využíváme Gaussovy sumy a Fourierovy řady, které navíc umožňují studium fraktální struktury takto vytvořených obrazců. Zvláštní pozornost pak věnujeme popisu samozobrazování a s ním úzce souvisejícím Talbotovým jevem. Naše teoretické předpovědi potom konfrontujeme s experimentem.

Abstract:

In this thesis, properties of monochromatic electromagnetic radiation passing through a spatially periodic grating with a specific pattern are investigated. In order to study the structure of the diffraction pattern created by such a grating, we employ Gaussian sums and Fourier series, which also allow an investigation of the fractal structure of these diffraction patterns possible. In particular, we focus on a description of the phenomena of Talbot effect and self-imaging. The theoretically obtained results are compared with the experiment.
