Posttraumatic growth in the context of the time perspective theory

Abstract:

Psychologové vedle negativních důsledků, které jsou zapříčiněny traumatickými událostmi, referují o možných pozitivních aspektech pramenící z přestání těchto události. Naši pozornost jsme zaměřili na vnímání času a jeho potenciální vliv na zvládání situací, které jsou subjektivně charakterizovány jako traumatické. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá fenoménem posttraumatického rozvoje v kontextu teorie časové perspektivy. V rámci výzkumu jsme se zaměřili na zjišťování vztahu mezi posttraumatickým rozvojem a časovou perspektivou. Zkoumaný soubor čítal 89 respondentů. Výzkum jsme realizovali prostřednictvím testové baterie zahrnující dotazník zjišťující sociodemografické údaje respondentu, Dotazník posttraumatického růstu (PTGI-CZ) a Zimbardův dotazník časové perspektivy (ZTPI). Na základě naších výsledků referujeme o pozitivní korelaci mezi budoucí časovou perspektivou, minulou negativní časovou perspektivou a přítomnou fatalistickou časovou perspektivou a posttraumatickým rozvojem. V rámci minulé negativní časové perspektivy se však nejednalo o signifikantní vztah.

Abstract:

Researchers noticed some positive changes after being exposed to psychological trauma besides the negative ones. We aimed at time perception and its potential influence on events perceived as traumatic. Whitin the study we focused on the relation between posttraumatic growth and time perspective. 89 respondents participated in our study. Test battery contained sociodemographic questionaire, czech version of posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI-CZ) and czech version of Zimbardo time perspective inventory (ZTPI). Based on our results we discussed positive correlation among future time perspective, past negative time perspective and present fatalistic time perspective and posttraumatic growth. The correlation wasn`t significant whitin past negative time perspective.
