Choice cases of Nazi persecution of czech students in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia

Abstract:

Primární cíl předkládané diplomové práce představuje přiblížení problematiky nacistické perzekuce české studující mládeže v období Protektorátu Čechy a Morava. Respektive snaha na konkrétních případech (Jilemnice, Pelhřimov, Kladno a Příbram) nastínit různé druhy nacistických postihů, které měly v rámci boje proti české inteligenci zabránit české mládeži ve vzdělání a tak degradovat český národ na pracující vrstvu, plně sloužící Velkoněmecké říše. Prostřednictvím archivních materiálů a studia odborné literatury se diplomová práce zaměřuje na detailní nastínění vybraných případů perzekuce českých studentů a českého školství tak, aby prostřednictvím jejich zpracování došlo k zachycení atmosféry období nacistické okupace.

Abstract:

The primary aim of the submitted thesis is close examination of the topic of Czech university students' persecution by Nazis in the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Respectively, an effort to use specific cases (Jilemnice, Pelhřimov, Kladno and Příbram) in order to outline various forms of Nazi sanctions which, as a part of the fight against the Czech intelligence, were supposed to prevent education of the Czech youth, and therefore demote the Czech nation to a working class, fully subservient to the economy of the Greater German Reich. Through the use of archive materials and examination of professional literature the thesis focuses on presenting a detailed outline of selected cases of sanctioning of Czech students and Czech educational system. It does so in such a way that through the elaboration on this topic the atmosphere of the Nazi occupation period can be captured.
