Power Series

Abstract:

In this thesis we deal with the theory of power series. Basic definitions such as the radius of convergence and the convergency interval are presented. We recall the derivation of the sum of a geometric series, which is later used to determine the sum of power series. We find power expansions for various functions, we derive the individual forms of remainders, and finally demonstrate practical applications of these series. Theoretical results of the thesis are illustrated on solved examples.

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se věnujeme teorii mocninných řad. Uvádíme základní definice jako poloměr a obor konvergence. Připomínáme odvození součtu geometrické řady, který později využíváme pri stanovování součtu mocninných řad. Nacházíme k jednotlivým funkcím mocninové rozvoje, odvozujeme jednotlivé tvary zbytku a konečně se věnujeme praktickým aplikacím těchto řad. Teoretické výsledky práce jsou ilustrovány na řešených příkladech.
