Phonetic and Phonological Competence of Pupils with Impaired Communication Abilities in Learning English Language

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Foneticko-fonologická kompetence u žáků s narušenou komunikační schopností ve výuce anglického jazyka“ se zabývá problematikou žáka s narušenou komunikační schopností ve výuce anglického jazyka. Práce se věnuje charakteristice žáka prvního stupně základní školy, definuje základní pojmy z oblasti komunikace a popisuje narušení komunikačních schopností ve sledované oblasti – dyslalii. Dále se práce věnuje foneticko-fonologické rovině jazyka, definuje pojmy z oblasti fonetiky a fonologie, zabývá se dělením hlásek českého a anglického jazyka a popisem jejich fyziologického tvoření. Výzkumná kapitola diplomové práce se věnuje kazuistickým studiím čtyř žáků s narušenou komunikační schopností. Popisuje jejich osobní a rodinnou anamnézu a projevy jejich narušené komunikační schopnosti ve výuce anglického jazyka. V neposlední řadě se výzkumná část práce věnuje závěrům a doporučením pedagogickým pracovníkům, jak s žáky s narušenou komunikační schopností ve výuce anglického jazyka pracovat.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis “Phonetic and Phonological Competence of Pupils with Impaired Communication Abilities in Learning English Language” deals with the questions of a pupil with impaired communication abilities in learning English language. The thesis characterizes a pupil at the first stage of a primary school, defines the basic concepts of communication and describes the impairment of communication abilities in the monitored level of language – dyslalia. Furthermore, the work deals with the phonetic and phonological language level, it defines the concepts of phonetics and phonology, divides the Czech and English speech sounds and describes the physiological aspects of their creation. Research chapter of the thesis devotes to the case studies of four pupils with impaired communication abilities. It describes their personal and family medical history and manifestations of their impaired communication abilities in English language classes. Last but not least the research part of the thesis devotes to the conclusions and recommendations on how to work with pupils with impaired communication abilities in English language classes.
