The concept of "crime" in Russian and Czech cognitive picture of the world

Abstract:

The main purpose of the diploma thesis is to compare the concept of "crime" in Russian and Czech cognitive picture of the world. The theoretical part provides detailed information about the basic concepts of cognitive linguistics and cultural linguistics, such as concepts, universally-subject code, mentality and language gaps, etc., as well as the particular research methods of these sciences. In the practical part the concept of "crime" in Russian and Czech speech environment at different levels are compared in lexicographical sources, proverbs, well-known literary texts ("Crime and Punishment", "The Brothers Karamazov”, written by F.M. Dostoyevsky, "Sad Detective" by V. Astafyev and "Povidky z jedné a druhé kapsy" by K. Čapek ), as well as in the media, on Internet forums and on the materials of associative experiment, resulting in significant differences detected.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem magisterské práce je srovnání konceptu „zločin“ v českém a ruském kognitivním obrazu světa. Teoretická část obsahuje podrobné informace o základních pojmech kognitivní lingvistiky a lingvokulturologie: konceptech, univerzálně předmětovém kódu, mentalitaě, jazykových lakunách atd. Kromě toho se zde popisují metody a metodologie výzkumu uvedených věd. V praktické části se koncept „zločin“ porovnává v ruském a českém řečovém prostředí na různých úrovních: v lexikografických zdrojích, paremiích, kulturně významných textech („Zločin a trest“ a „Bratři Karamazovi“ F. M. Dostojevského, „Smutný detektiv“ V. Astaf´jeva, „Povídky z jedné a druhé kapsy“ K. Čapka), a také v médiích a na internetových fórech, v důsledku čeho se objevují podstatné rozdíly.
