Abstract:
The thesis focuses on an analysis of representations of Southern culture in the selected plays by Tennessee Williams. Both theoretical and analytical parts focus on the description of the distinctiveness of the culture of the North and the South, the Southern Belle archetype and the evolution of the "Old South" to the modern South.Abstract:
Práce se zaměřuje na analýzu zastoupení prvků jižanské kultury ve vybraných dílech Tennesseeho Williamse. Jak teoretická, tak analytická část práce se zaměřuje na popsání rozdílností vývoje kultur jihu a severu USA, archetypu jižanské dámy, vývoje "starého" jihu USA do moderní podoby a konfliktu těchto dvou kultur.
