Spa and wellness services provided by selected resort hotels - impact on the competitiveness of a particular complex

Abstract:

Cílem této disertační práce je analyzovat divize SPA v několika vybraných komplexech v Bělorusku (sanatorium "Dubrovenka", sanatorium "Priozerny", "Falcon Club"),a kriticky analyzovat jejich specifika a management. provedený výzkum bude nadále využit k analýze kritérií úspěšnosti daných zařízení. Důvody úspěchu každého konkrétního zařízení budou posouzeny pomocí průzkumu, účtů klientů a následných rozhovorů s manažery zařízení. Tato bakalářská práce se dále zaměřuje na studium vlivu SPA - konktrétně úroveň konkurenceschopnosti a příjmů hotelů, ve kterých působí. Z tohoto důvodu je nutné prozkoumat korelaci mezi vysokou konkurenceschopností každého jednotlivého hotelu a úrovní organizace lázeňských a wellness služeb. Tato práce je relevantní vzhledem k tomu, že zkoumá potenciální směr vývoje sektoru SPA a wellness služeb v moderním světě. Práce je rozdělena na tři části: teoretická část, analýza výsledků a závěr. Součástí teoretické části je přehled historie wellness a SPA, stejně jako analýza současného stavu ekonomiky podle Global Wellness Economy Monitor. Druhá, tedy analytická část, se zabývá třemi vybranými komplexy a hodnotí informace shromážděné během výzkumu. Závěrečná část práce shrnuje obsah uvedený v průběhu práce a zároveň navrhuje řadu doporučení, které by pozitivně ovlivnily dané zařízení a mohly by pomoci k jeho růstu.

Abstract:

The aim of this dissertation is to discuss the SPA divisions in the number of selected complexes in Belarus (sanatorium “Dubrovenka”, sanatorium “Priozerny”, “Falcon Club”) as well as their special features, list of offered procedures and management policy. In addition, the conducted research will be used to analyze the success criteria for the given facilities. Furthermore, the reasons for success of every particular facility will be assessed with the help of the survey, clients’ accounts and manager’s interview results. Moreover, this BA thesis focuses on studying the impact SPA has on the level of competitiveness and revenue of the hotels it functions within. Thus, the correlation between the high competitiveness of each individual hotel and the level of organization of Spa and Wellness services will be investigated. This work is relevant due to the fact that it examines the potential direction of the SPA and Wellness service sector development in the modern world. The thesis itself is divided into three parts: theoretical, analytical, conclusion. The theoretical part includes the overview of the history of wellness and SPA as well as the analysis of their current economy state according to the Global Wellness Economy Monitor. The second, analytical, part discusses the three selected complexes with the aid of the information gathered during the research. Finally, the concluding part summarizes the content mentioned throughout the work, while suggesting a number of recommendations, which may benefit the business.
