Analysis of the environmental impact of recycling costs for batteries and accumulators

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce analyzuje veškeré činnosti týkající se recyklace baterií a akumulátorů včetně vlivu těchto činností na složky životního prostředí. Práce se zaměřuje především na přenosné baterie a akumulátory a na konkrétní činnosti společnosti ECOBAT, s.r.o., jež je hlavním zajistitelem systému zpětného odběru a recyklace baterií na území České republiky. Dále je v práci obsažen přehled jednotlivých druhů elektrochemických zdrojů, informace o životním cyklu baterií a jejich hrozbách vůči životnímu prostředí. Cílem bakalářské práce je posouzení, zda je recyklace baterií a akumulátorů skutečným přínosem pro životní prostředí, a zhodnocení současného stavu systému recyklace tohoto druhu odpadu v ČR.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes all activities relating to the recycling of batteries and accumulators, including the environmental impact of these activities. The thesis focuses on portable batteries and accumulators and activities of ECOBAT, Ltd., which is the main provider of collection and recycling of batteries in the Czech Republic. The thesis also contains an overview of different types of electrochemical sources, information about life cycle of batteries and their threats to the environment. The goal of the thesis is to determine whether the recycling of batteries and accumulators is a real benefit to the environment or not, and assess the current status of recycling system of this type of waste in the Czech Republic.
