Order of the Maltese Knights and a Non-Profit Sector in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na činnost Maltézských rytířů v neziskovém sektoru prováděnou prostřednictvím Českého velkopřevorství. Práce má dva cíle. Prvním cílem je dokázat, že je Maltézský řád nedílnou součástí české občanské společnosti neboli neziskového sektoru v ČR. Druhá hledaná odpověď je, zdali se řád významně podílí na sociálních službách v ČR a jak. V teoretické části dochází k základnímu vymezení neziskového sektoru a jeho hlavních vlastností. Práce dále seznamuje čtenáře s řádem a jeho působením na českém území v minulosti. V praktické části je provedena analýza jeho činností v ČR vycházející z dat, dokumentů a informací o řádových organizacích během let 2013-2018. V rámci praktické části se porovnává vymezená teorie s výslednými informacemi, to se stává podkladem pro naplnění cílů práce. Výsledek práce slouží jako důkaz o důležitosti Řádu maltézských rytířů v českém neziskovém sektoru.

Abstract:

This thesis is aimed at the activities of the Order of Malta in the Czech nonprofit sector through the Grand Priory of Bohemia. The bachelor thesis has two main goals. The first goal is to prove that the Order of Malta is integral part of the Czech civil society also known as the nonprofit sector. The second objective finds the answer on the question, if the Order significantly partake in social services in the Czech Republic and how. The theoretical part consists of definition the nonprofit sector and its main features. It also introduces the Order of Malta and its activities in the Czech area in past. The practical part is dealing with the analysis of the Grand Priory's activities in the Czech republic. The analysis is based on data, documents and informations provided by the Order's organizations and the Czech ministries during 2013-2018. Within the practical part is compared defined theory with the analyzed data. It serves to accomplish thesis goals. The result provides the evidence of importance of the Order of Malta in the Czech nonprofit sector.
