Czech Forest Theatres Through The Changes of Time

Abstract:

Tato práce se snaží zmapovat proměnu fungování lesních divadel v Čechách od jejich vzniku až po současnost. Nastíní jejich financování, management, marketing, ale i transformaci struktury samotných návštěvníků těchto kulturních zařízení. Lesní divadla stále žijí, ale poměrně výrazně změnila svou tvář. A právě fenomén této proměny bylo cílem mé práce zachytit. Ve své práci využiji informací, které jsem získala při svých poutích po českých lesních divadlech, po místních kronikách a archivech, ale i z rozhovorů s lidmi, kteří se o lesní divadla nyní obvykle dobrovolně starají a od pořádajících agentur, které v současnosti v prostorách lesních divadel akce pořádají.

Abstract:

This work records the changes in function of forest theatres in the Czech Republic (Bohemia) from the time of their formation all the way to the present. It will outline their funding, management, marketing as well as the structure transformation of these cultural facilities’ audiences themselves. Forest theatres are still in existence but they have gone through rather dramatic changes. Here, I will try to pin down the phenomenon of these changes. In my work I will use the information that I gained during my pilgrimage on Czech Forest Theatres, local chronicles and archives, as well as from interviews with people who take care of the Forest Theatres, now usually on a voluntary basis, and from the agencies which currently organize events in the forest theaters areas.
