The role of twinning in the development of municipalities, towns and regions

Abstract:

Pro svoji diplomovou práci jsem si zvolila téma „Význam partnerství v rozvoji obcí, měst a regionů.“ V úvodu se věnuji vymezení pojmu partnerství, dále také formám a typům partnerství. Poté představuji hlavní aktéry partnerství a jeho největší přínosy. Dále představuji nejdůležitější aktéry města Stochov a města Vlašim, kteří do partnerství vstupují a bez kterých by spolupráce nebyla možná. Zabývám se vznikem partnerství a také financováním jako hlavního nástroje rozvoje měst. Zaměřuji se na konkrétní partnerské smlouvy a jejich přínos v rozvoji jak města Stochov, tak města Vlašim. V závěru práce zhodnocuji jak město Vlašim a město Stochov využilo partnerství a to v kontextu využití partnerství v rozvoji obou municipalit.

Abstract:

For my thesis I chose the topic “The role of twinning in the development of municipalities, towns and regions”. In the introduction I narrow down the term “twinning”, its forms and types. After that, I present the key participants in twinning and its main benefits. I present the main participants, the towns of Stochov and Vlašim, without which the cooperation would not be possible. I deal with the establishment of a twinning and with financing as the main instrument of the urban development. I focus on specific twinning agreements and their contribution to the development of both towns. In the conclusion of the thesis, I evaluate how did above mentioned towns make use of the twinning in the context of twinning employment in both municipalities.
