Changes in journalistic practices of sports commentators influenced by convergence

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem konvergence na proměnu mediálních rutin práce sportovních komentátorů. Tato specifická žurnalistická profese je v českém prostředí doposud málo probádaná. V teoretické části nejprve pomocí odborné literatury definuji konvergenci, multiskilling a digitální média v rukou sportovních komentátorů. Dále definuji televizi, tradiční médium, ve vztahu k novým médiím a ostatní relevantní teoretická východiska pro analýzu. Práce je postavena na základech kvalitativního výzkumu. V metodologické části pak představuji postupy, kterými jsem se řídila při sběru a analýze dat. V empirické části se tak na základě kvalitativních rozhovorů se sportovními komentátory veřejnoprávní, ale také komerčních televizí, pokusím potvrdit či vyvrátit hypotézy a popsat proměnu pracovních rutin sportovních komentátorů s příchodem digitálních médií. Diplomová práce se bude teoreticky i empiricky zabývat problematikou působení trendu konvergence na práci sportovních komentátorů.

Abstract:

This thesis examines the influence of the media convergence at the transformation of media work routines sports commentators. This specific journalistic profession is in Czech still little explored. In the theoretical part, I first use the scientific literature define convergence, multi-skilling and her tools in the hands of sports commentators. Further I define television, traditional medium, in relation to new media and other relevant theoretical basis for analysis. This thesis is built on the foundations of qualitative research. The methodological part presents the procedures that I followed in collecting and analyzing data. In the empirical part was on the basis of qualitative interviews with sports commentators public, but also for commercial television, try to prove or disprove the hypothesis and describe the transformation of working routines sports commentators with the advent of new media. This thesis will be theoretically and empirically address the issue of convergence in the work of sports commentators.
