Body as a Sixth Sense in Goliarda Sapienza's Work

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the thematic analysis of the body as a sixth sense in the literary work of the Sicilian writer Goliarda Sapienza. At first the thesis provides the reader with a contextual basis (the writer’s special meaning of word “body” and the external influences, such as education and places where she lives, played on Goliarda Sapienza’s writing) to understand Goliarda’s concept of the body as a sixth sense. This sixth sense creates various identitarian and physical contrasts that the writer must cope with. I conclude the thesis with the theme of rebirth, which is related to the rediscovery of Goliarda’s own corporeality and her own identity.

Abstract:

Predložená magisterská diplomová práca sa venuje tematickej analýze tela ako šiesteho zmyslu v literárnych dielach sicílskej autorky Goliarda Sapienza. Práca, v prvom rade, poskytuje čitateľovi kontextuálny základ (význam slova „telo“ pre spisovateľku a vonkajšie vplyvy, ako napríklad vzdelanie a miesta kde býva, na sapienzine diela) na pochopenie významu tela ako šiesteho zmyslu, vďaka ktorému sa v dielach Goliardy Sapienzi objavujú rôzne identitárne a fyzické kontrasty, s ktorými sa spisovateľka musí vyrovnať. Túto prácu uzatváram témou znovuzrodenia, ktorá súvisí so znovuobjavením Goliardinej vlastnej telesnosti a vlastnej identity.
