Abstract:
The submitted bachelor thesis focuses on the theory of social memory by the German cultural historian Aby Warburg. Warburg’s reconstructed theory of social memory is set into the context of Warburg’s mnemonic legacy. Furthermore, the theory’s basic inspiration, critique, as well as its place in the field of contemporary memory studies are introduced in the thesis. The final part of the thesis aspires …more
