Characteristics of the 19th century popular Mexican Spanish present in the novel Astucia, el jefe de los Hermanos de la Hoja, by Luis G. Inclán

Abstract:

Astucia, el jefe de los Hermanos de la Hoja is a novel dating from the second half of the 19th century. And it is this century that is one of the little-explored areas in Latin America among linguists. Especially colloquial Spanish is not given so much attention, although it undoubtedly deserves it. In the novel Astucia there are a large number of colloquial elements, which can be divided according to individual language plans into phonetic, morphosyntactic and lexical-semantic. These elements must then be analyzed from the perspective of historical pragmatics and sociolinguistics. Thanks to the analysis, it is possible to find out in which plans the aspects of orality and colloquiality appear the most, how they are expressed and what they say about the development of colloquial Spanish of the popular classes in Mexico in the second half of the 19th century.

Abstract:

Astucia, el jefe de los Hermanos de la Hoja je román pocházející ze 2.poloviny 19.století. A právě toto století patří mezi lingvisty k málo prozkoumané oblasti v rámci Latinské Ameriky. Zejména pak hovorové španělštině není věnováno tolik pozornosti, přestože by si ji bezpochyby zasloužila. V románu Astucia se vyskytuje velké množství hovorových prvků, které lze rozdělit dle jednolivých jazykových plánů na fonetické, morfosyntaktické a lexikálně-sémantické. Tyto prvky musí být poté analyzovány z pohledů historické pragmatiky a sociolingvistiky. Díky analýze lze zjistit, ve kterých plánech se aspekty orality a hovorovosti objevují nejvíce, jakým způsobem jsou vyjádřeny a co vypovídají o vývoji hovorové španělštiny lidových vrstev v Mexiku ve 2. polovině 19. století.
