PC Games as a marketing communications tool

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou komerčních sdělení v počítačových hrách. Popisuje vývoj tohoto média, jeho současný stav a do jisté míry i budoucí možnosti využití nových technologií. V teoretické části jsou shrnuta specifika her jako média a jejich rozdělení z hlediska žánrů. Je zde uvedena typologie jejich konzumentů {--} hráčů a také jednotlivé formy reklamních sdělení, se kterým se v tomto médiu můžeme setkat. Analytická část se zabývá popisem a analýzou konkrétních marketingových sdělení v jednotlivých herních titulech.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the field of advertising in computer games. It describes the evolution of the media, its contemporary state and to a certain extend future possibilities of use of new technologies. In the theoretical part, there is a specification of the medium and the description of its genres. There is also a typology of its consumers {--} players and the definitions of various advertising forms that one can use in this medium. The analytic part comprises of the analysis of particular advertisements in different game titles.
