Determinants of Corporate Capital Structure

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá determinanty kapitálové struktury českých nefinančních podniků v osmi vybraných sekcích CZ-NACE. Předmětem zájmu je vztah mezi zadlužeností a kontrolou, právní formou, velikostí, strukturou aktiv, růstem, likviditou, rizikem bankrotu, rentabilitou, zdaněním a makroekonomickou situací. Výsledky analýzy, provedené zvlášť pro jednotlivé sekce CZ-NACE za pomocí metod panelové regrese, jsou zhodnoceny z hlediska vlivu jednotlivých determinant, a to v kontextu teorií kapitálové struktury a relevantních empirických studií.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the determinants of capital structure of Czech non-financial corporations in eight chosen CZ-NACE sections. The centre of interest is the relationship between leverage and control, legal entity type, size, asset structure, growth, liquidity, bankruptcy risk, profitability, tax and macroeconomic situation. The analysis’ results, obtained separately for each CZ-NACE section using panel regression methods, are evaluated with respect to the impact of the individual determinants and in the context of capital structure theories and relevant empirical research.
