Japanese security policy during the first and the second government of Shinzo Abe

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje bezpečnostní politice Japonska za první a druhé vlády Šinza Abeho v letech 2006 - 2007 a 2012 - 2016. Tato práce se zaměřuje na institucionální, doktrinální i legislativní změny v oblasti bezpečnosti, které se Abeho kabinetům podařilo prosadit, nejen v kontextu klíčové aliance mezi USA a Japonskem. V této práci jsou analyzována také klíčová témata bezpečnostní politiky obou jeho vlád a pozornost je věnována rovněž otázce, zda lze tyto změny bezpečnostní politiky hodnotit jako revoluční či nikoliv.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis examines the security policy of Japan during the first and second government of Shinzo Abe in the years 2006 – 2007 as well as 2012 – 2016. This thesis focuses on institutional, doctrinal and legislative changes in the field of security that Abe administrations have already managed to enforce, not only in the context of US-Japan Alliance. Moreover, the key topics of the security policy of both governments are analyzed and the attention is also paid to whether these changes in the security policy can be regarded as revolutionary or not.
