Relations between Czechoslovakia and the Allies of the Little Entente in 1938

Abstract:

Tato bakalářské práce se zabývá vztahy mezi Malou dohodou a Československem na bilaterální i multilaterální úrovni během roku 1938. V historii Československa se jedná o krizový rok. Úvod se věnuje především samotnému vzniku Malé dohody. Hlavní část práce vychází z dobových politických zpráv, zasílaných z československých velvyslanectví v Bukurešti a Bělehradu. Tyto zprávy vykreslují fungování vzájemných vztahů ve zkoumaném období, které se práce snaží analyzovat. Práce dále komparuje československo - jugoslávské a československo – rumunské vztahy. Především se práce snaží zodpovědět, zda byl postoj obou malodohodových spojenců k Československu dán či nikoliv.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with relations between the Little Entente and Czechoslovakia on both bilateral and multilateral levels during the year 1938, which is considered as the crisis year in the history of Czechoslovakia. The Introduction mainly concerns about the origin of the Little Entente itself. The Main part of the thesis is based on archival political accounts sent from the Czechoslovakian embassies in Bucharest and Belgrade. These accounts delineate how the mutual relations in the described period worked and the thesis tries to analyse them. Furthermore the thesis compares Czechoslovakian - Yugoslavian relations to Czechoslovakian - Romanian relations. This thesis mainly tries to answer if the posture of both Little Entente´s allies towards Czechoslovakia had been given or not.
