Personality characteristics related to aggression and social intelligence in aggressive and non- aggressive patients with schizophrenia

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on personal dimensions connected with aggresson in persons with schizophrenia. The study had following aims: 1. Find out, if persons from both groups with schizophrenia will have higher scores on agresivity than non-clinical sample 2.Find out, if there is a difference in aggressivity between individuals with schizophrenia, who committed violent crime and those, who did not. 3. Find out, if there exists a difference between clinical and non-clinical samlple in other personality characteristics, such as arousal, miernosť, inhibition, openness and social inteligence, which are related with aggression, 4. Find out, if there is a difference between individuals with schizophrenia with criminal record and those without in other personality characteristics such as arousal, mildness, inhibition, openness and social intelligence, which are related with aggression 5. Find out, the relations of different personality dimensions in aggressive individuals with schizophrenia with aggression. The research included 48 respondents, who were dived into three groups: 1. Respondents with schizophrenia, who has criminal records of violence and during the time of study were psychiatric inpatients because of this (N=16),2. Respondents with schizophrenia without violence in anamnesis (n=16), 3. respondents from non-clinical population (n=16). Respondents did fullfill these questionnaires: 1, Freiburský osobnostný dotazník; 2, Tromsø Social Intelligence Scale; 3, Aggression questionnaire. This questinnaires were subsequently analysed. Main finding of this study is that aggressive respondents with schizophrenia do not differ from other groups in the rate of aggressivity. Despite this fact the dimensions of personality connected with aggresion in aggressive respondents with schizophrenia correlate with different personality dimension than in non-aggressive group with schizophrenia.

Práca sa zaoberá zisťovaním osobnostných charakteristík spojených s agresiou u jedincov so schizofréniou. Práca si stanovila nasledujúce ciele: 1, Zistiť, či sa budú jedinci z oboch skupín so schizofréniou vyznačovať oproti bežnej populácií zvýšenou agresivitou. 2, Zistiť, či bude existovať rozdiel v agresivite medzi jedincami so schizofréniou, ktorí spáchali násilný trestný čin a tými, ktorí v minulosti nič také neurobili. 3, Zistiť, či bude existovať rozdiel v iných osobnostných charakteristikách, ako vzrušivosť, miernosť, zdržanlivosť, otvorenosť, sociálna inteligencia, ktoré súvisia s agresiou, medzi jedincami so schizofréniou a bežnou populáciou. 4, Zistiť, či bude existovať rozdiel v iných osobnostných charakteristikách, ako vzrušivosť, miernosť, zdržanlivosť, otvorenosť, sociálna inteligencia, ktoré súvisia s agresiou medzi jedincami so schizofréniou bez násilnej minulosti a jedincami so schizofréniou s násilnou minulosťou. 5, Zistiť, ako sa vzťahujú rôzne osobnostné dimenzie agresívnych jedincov so schizofréniou k agresii. Výskum bol uskutočnený na 48 respondentoch, ktorí boli zaradení do troch skupín: 1, respondenti so schizofréniou, ktorí v minulosti spáchali násilný trestný čin a momentálne kvôli nemu absolvovali ochrannú liečbu psychiatrickú (N=16); 2) respondenti so schizofréniou bez násilia v anamnéze (N=16); 3) respondenti z bežnej populácie (N=16). Respondenti vyplnili nasledujúce dotazníky: 1, Freiburský osobnostný dotazník; 2, Tromsø Social Intelligence Scale; 3, Dotazník agresivity Busa a Perryho, ktoré boli podkladom pre následnú analýzu dát a pre záverečnú analýzu práce. Hlavným zistením práce je, že agresívni respondenti so schizofréniou sa nevyznačujú vyššou mierou agresivity ako respondenti z porovnávacích skupín . Napriek tomu dimenzie osobnosti spojené s agresivitou agresívnych respondentov so schizofréniou súvisia s inými osobnostnými dimenziami ako u neagresívnych respondentov so schizofréniou.
