This bachelor thesis focuses on the usage of figurative language in travel guides. Firstly, the text type and purpose of travel guides is introduced. Subsequently the thesis characterizes figurative language in general and describes in detail those types which refer to one thing as another. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá užitím figurativního jazyka v turistických průvodcích. Nejprve je představen druh textů a účel turistických průvodců. Následně práce obecně charakterizuje figurativní jazyk a detailně popisuje ty druhy, které odkazují na určitou věc pomocí jiné.
