Dance education of persons with various kinds of disabilities

Abstract:

Taneční vzdělávání osob s různými druhy postižení není příliš známé a rozšířené. Tato práce se zabývá vzděláváním osob s tělesným, mentálním, nebo smyslovým postižením či znevýhodněním. V práci se pokusím představit základní způsoby přístupu k osobám s postižením, prvotní návody pro práci na tanečním sále, ale i možnosti jak s takovými jedinci jednat a jak je připravit na veřejná představení.Práce je rozdělena do osmi kapitol, ve kterých se postupně seznamujeme s klasifikací různých postižení a poruch (podle druhů, stupňů, podle doby jejich vzniku), s osobami s různými druhy postižení a přístupu k nim. Dále jsou v práci uvedeny možnosti vzdělávání a samotné práce pedagogických pracovníků v tomto odvětví tance. V práci je popsána důležitost asistentů pro osoby s postižením na lekcích tance a při veřejných vystoupeních. Hlavní část práce je věnována pomocným cvičením, relaxaci, terapii, tanečním hodinám a veřejným prezentacím s osobami s postižením.Cílem práce je vytvořit prvotní nápomoc v podobě textu pro taneční pedagogy tak, aby se takový pedagog nezalekl případného uchazeče o taneční vzdělávání, jež má některý typ postižení. Často je zapotřebí uvědomit si, že jde pouze o počáteční nejistotu z neznámého. Osoby s postižením jsou velmi otevřené a je naplňující s nimi pracovat.

Abstract:

Dance education of persons with various kinds of disabilities is not very known and wide-spread. This work deals with the education of persons having physical, mental, or sense disabilities or disadvantages. I am going to describe basic methods of dealing with persons with disabilities, simple techniques of working at the dance hall as well as how to prepare these persons for public performances.The work is divided into eight chapters, in which the reader is introduced to the classification of various disabilities and disorders (according to kind, level, period of appearance), persons with various kinds of disabilities and dealing with them. Possibilities of education and the pedagogic work itself in this branch of dance are listed. The important role of assistants of persons with disabilities during dance lessons and public performances is emphasized. The main part of the thesis is devoted to auxiliary exercises, relaxation, therapy, dance lessons, and public presentations of persons with disabilities.The goal of this work is to provide a text for dance pedagogues to encourage them in situations when a person with a disability is about to attend their lessons. It is important to realize that possible initial doubts are likely to come from fear of unknown that is dispelled soon. Persons with disabilities are very perspicuous and it is rewarding to be working with them.
