The rehabilitation program of a patient with a shoulder injury and ankle fracture following an accidental fall: case report

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on medical case of a woman who, owing to an accidental fall, suffers injuries to the shoulder and ankle of the right side of the body. The woman shows the impossibility to performing day-to-day activities such as combing her hair since the shoulder injury causes pain in movement, whereas the fracture of the ankle forces her to the use of assistive devices like crutches. The aim is to achieve the total mobility of both joints through physiotherapy treatments based on massage therapy and the use of electrostimulation device such as TENS, permitting the woman the return to her daily routine.

Abstract:

La tesi tratta il caso clinico di una donna che a causa di una caduta accidentale riporta lesioni alla spalla e alla caviglia del lato destro del corpo. La donna presenta l'impossibilit? di svolgere le attivit? quotidiane, come pettinarsi i capelli, poiché la lesione alla spalla provoca dolore nei movimenti, mentre la frattura alla caviglia la obbliga all'utilizzo di ausili, come le stampelle. L'obiettivo ? raggiungere la totale mobilit? di entrambe le articolazioni, attraverso trattamenti fisioterapici basati sulla massoterapia e l'utilizzo di macchinari elettrostimolatori come la TENS, permettendo cos? alla donna il ritorno alla sua quotidianit?.
