The Collecting and Literary Activity by Ludvík Kuba as the Document of South Slavonic Folk Culture in Period State

Abstract:

Práce je pokusem o typologickou charakteristiku folklórního díla českého etnomuzikologa a etnografa Ludvíka Kuby (1863-1956) a současně zamyšlením nad jeho literárním a sběratelským odkazem v kontextu slovanské lidové kultury. Úvodní stati textu se snaží zasadit Kubovu osobnost do dobového kontextu a zároveň se věnují teoretickému pojetí lidové písně. Poté následuje analýza jihoslovanské hudební tradice s detailním zaměřením na Kubův sběr z Bosny a Hercegoviny. Samostatná kapitola je věnována Jihoslovanům v literárním díle Ludvíka Kuby. Závěrečná, komparační část přináší srovnání Kubova díla s vybranými osobnostmi z řad české folkloristiky.

Abstract:

The work is an attemt on typological characteristic of Ludvík Kuba´s folkloric work. He was the Czech ethnomusicologist and ethnographer (1863-1956). At the same time it is a contemplation over his literary and collecting heritage in the context of Slavonic folk culture. The preface chapters of the text are devoted both to put Kuba´s individuality into period context and to the theoretic concept of a folk song.Then it folows the analysis of South Slavonic musical tradition with detailed focusing on Kuba´s collection from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Southern Slavs in literary works of Ludvík Kuba have their own chapter. The final, comparative part compares the Kuba´s work to some works of representative personalities from the Czech folklore studies.
