Searching for Improvised Explosive Devices during security screening of incoming shipments

Abstract:

This Bachelor’s thesis deals with searching of explosives in shipped parcel during the security chceck, in form of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part explains the potentional explosion of dangerous materials and the risks which come along with it. It also describes an explosive act and destructive means, which are used during the terrorist attacks, therefore it is important to mention what type of injuries may occur when someone is in close vicinity of a bomb attack. The next part is about technologies which are used during the security check of shipped parcels in the area of the airport. The main reason is to eliminate commiting an illegal act. The last chaper of the theoretical part is focused on dangerous parcel in general. The practical part of this Bachelor’s thesis deals with the specific metal detector essential for security check of shipped parcel. Thanks to the SCANMAIL 10K there could be done detecion of metal and non-metal objects with an instant result and final evaulation of reliability of this metal detector.

Abstract:

Táto bakalárska práca sa zaoberá vyhľadaním nástražných výbušných systémov pri bezpečnostnej kontrole prijatých zásielok a skladá sa z teoretickej a praktickej časti. Teoretická časť obsahuje vysvetlenie nástražného výbušného systému, opisuje možné prebiehajúce explozívne deje a vymedzuje deštrukčné prostriedky, ktoré sú využívane pri ničivých útokoch a preto je dôležité aj spomenúť poranenia, ktoré vzniknú pri zasiahnutí nástražným výbušným systémom. Ďalšia časť sa venuje spôsobu a technológiam, ktoré sú využívané pri bezpečnostnej prehliadke na letisku z dôvodu eliminácie páchania protiprávnych činov. Zakončenie teoretickej časti sa venuje samostatnej kapitole o podozrivej zásielke. Praktická časť práce vytyčuje konkrétny detektor určený na bezpečnostnú kontrolu listovej zásielky. Za pomoci prístroja SCANMAIL 10K bola možná kontrola jednotlivých predmetov pre ich okamžitú detekciu a výsledné vyhodnotenie spoľahlivosti detektoru kovu.
