This bachelor thesis describes the development of an Android application for recording attendance using Bluetooth Low Energy technology to scan beacons. At first, attendance systems are discussed. The thesis then looks at several technologies used to obtain location throughout a mobile phone, its history, principle of operation, and its comparison to Bluetooth Low Energy.
