The Linguistic Feminization in the overseas departments and regions of France

Abstract:

The mission of this bachelor thesis is to thoroughly define term linguistic feminization to set basis to what is precise goal of this scientific field. As a template we will be focusing on work adverts which were issued in the French overseas departments, how is the language feminization received, and what is the position of women as subject of language in Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Mayotte and Réunion. Furthermore, the insight into history of language feminization and all terms belonging to it, factual techniques of the language which are used in order to express feminine gender, sociolinguistic overview of demography, history and geography of segments involved in the research will all be considered and analysed.

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je vysvětlit pojem jazykové feminizace a ujasnit, čím se tato lingvistická disciplína zabývá. Na pracovních inzerátech vydaných ve francouzských departementech ukážeme, jak je vnímána jazyková feminizace a jaké postavení mají ženy ve francouzštině užívané v Guadeloupu, Martiniku, Francouzské Guyaně, Mayotte a Réunionu. Součástí bude rovněž pohled do historie jazykové feminizace, vysvětlení pojmů s ní spojených, konkrétních jazykových technik k vyjádření ženského rodu a budeme se věnovat sociolingvistice, pohledu na obyvatelstvo, dějinám a geografii zkoumaných departementů.
