The Comparative Analysis of Breweries in Pilsen

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá porovnáním velkých a malých pivovarů v Plzni za pomoci rozdílných ukazatelů. Jedním z jejích cílů je určit pozici malých pivovarů na plzeňském pivovarském trhu. Zjistit, jestli tyto malé pivovary mají své místo na trhu. Dalším cílem je prozkoumat možnosti prosazení malých pivovarů vedle tak velkého koncernu. Tato bakalářská práce se snaží prokázat, že malé pivovary na trhu v západočeské metropoli mají šanci najít si své zákazníky. V neposlední řadě je jejím cílem určit, zda je nabídka pivovarů omezena pouze na určité typy piv nebo je rozšířena o více typů a jiné služby. Metody, pomocí kterých je práce napsána, jsou komparativní analýza, deskriptivní analýza, syntéza a v neposlední řade metoda pozorování. V závěru práce bylo zjištěno, že malé pivovary jistě své místo na trhu mají, a že je dobré, aby doplňovaly nabídku těch velkých. Možnost prosazení vedle velkého koncernu je sice omezená, ale malým pivovarům tato situace vyhovuje, protože jsou kapacitně omezeny. Kromě jednoho ze zkoumaných pivovarů nabízejí všechny pivovary více typů piv. Nejširší nabídku má jeden z těch malých. Dále pak práce poukazuje na ten fakt, že všechny pivovary nemají v nabídce pouze piva, ale také jiné aktivity. Jeden z malých pivovarů dokonce nabízí pivní SPA a wellness. Je to dáno tím, že dnešní zákazník je mnohem náročnější, než býval v minulosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the comparison of small and large breweries in Pilsen with the help of different indicators. One of the objectives is to determine the position of smaller breweries on the brewer’s market and to find out whether these smaller breweries have their place on the market. The next objective is to analyse if the small breweries have the opportunity to establish themselves in the market with such large brewery. This thesis tries to prove that even small breweries in Western Bohemia have the possibility to find their customers. Last but not least, it seeks to determine whether the breweries’ offer is limited to certain types of beers or is extended to more types and other services. The methods used in this thesis are the comparative and descriptive analyses, the synthesis and observation method. In conclusion, it was found that small breweries certainly do have their position on the market and that they complement the offer of big ones. The possibility to establish them-selves next to the large ones is limited, however this situation suits the small breweries due to capacity restraints. In addition, except for one analysed brewery, all other breweries of-fer more types of beer. Further, the study points to the fact that all breweries do not offer only beer but also other activities. One of the smaller breweries even offers beer spa and wellness. This is due to the fact that today’s customers are more demanding than before.
