Globalization and welfare state

Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce "Globalizace a stát blahobytu" je otázka ufinancovatelnosti států blahobytu. První část je zaměřena na popis a historický vývoj státu blahobytu. V druhé části charakterizuji hlavní rysy globalizace. Ve třetí části je analyzována situace udržitelnosti států blahobytu přes omezení vyplývající z daňové konkurence. V poslední části je zkoumán vývoj a změny ve struktuře vládních výdajů ovlivněných globalizací. Pak následuje prověření záměrů vlád k financování svých výdajů rozpočtovými schodky.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis "Globalization and welfare state" is a question of financing of welfare states. The first part is concentrated on description and historical development of welfare states. In the second part I characterize main features of globalization. The third part is devoted to the analysis of fiscal sustainability of welfare states under restricting conditions of a tax competition. The last part examines growth and changes in structure of government expenditures influenced by globalization. After that follows the investigation of governments' intentions to finance its expenditures via budget deficits.
