Assessment of financial health and accounting for sustainability of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je zjištění finančního zdraví a účetnictví udržitelného rozvoje podniku Henkel AG & Co. KGaA za pomoci základních metod finanční analýzy a rozboru účetní udržitelnosti na základě modelu ekonomiky pro obecné blaho (economy for the common good). Práce je rozdělena na dvě části – metodickou a praktickou. Metodická část práce zahrnuje charakteristiku podniku Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, teoretickou průpravu k finanční analýze, její předmět, zdroje informací a základní metody. Dále obsahuje obecné informace k účetnictví udržitelného rozvoje a jeho vykazování v reportech, zmiňuje organizaci Global Reporting Initiative a ekonomický model ekonomika pro obecné blaho (economy for the common good). Metodika, která je uvedena v teoretické části, je následně použita i v části praktické. Praktická část se věnuje základním metodám finanční analýzy podniku Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, vyhodnocuje výsledky a porovnává podnik s konkurenty. Informace získané z reportu účetnictví udržitelného rozvoje pak aplikuje na ekonomický model ekonomika pro obecné blaho (economy for the common good) a vyhodnocuje jeho účetní udržitelnost.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the financial health and accounting sustainability of Henkel Company by using fundamental methods of financial analysis and analysis of accounting sustainability based on model economy for the common good. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts - methodical and practical. The methodological part of the thesis includes the characteristics of Henkel Company, theoretical background for financial analysis, its subject, sources of information and fundamental methods. It also includes general information about accounting sustainability and reporting. It mentions Global Reporting Initiative and an economic model economy for the common good. The methodology presented in the theoretical part, is then used in the practical part. The practical part deals with the fundamental methods of financial analysis of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, evaluates the results and compares the company with the competitors. Then it applies the information from the sustainability accounting report to the economic model economy for the common good and evaluates its accounting sustainability.
