The Change in Personnel Strategy due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and its Benefits for Effective Management in Business Practice

Abstract:

Tématem této diplomové práce je změna personální strategie vlivem pandemie Covid-19 a její vliv na efektivní řízení podniku, respektive tří vybraných podniků. Lidský kapitál je nejzásadnějším faktor ovlivňující výkon podniku, a to na všech hierarchických úrovních. Přístup k řízení lidských zdrojů a míra aplikování zásad strategického řízení má také významný vliv na efektivitu celého podniku a tím také na efektivitu investovaných finančních prostředků. Cílem práce je na základě zjištění vlivu pandemických opatření na zkoumané společnosti identifikovat klíčové části personálních strategií, které mají klíčový vliv na efektivní řízení a dále vymezit konkrétní opatření, která zajistí efektivní řízení společností navzdory turbulentnímu prostředí. V teoretické́ časti práce je prezentováno téma personální strategie a efektivního řízení podniku. Dále je v práci sumarizovaně uvedeno, co je onemocnění Covid-19 a jaký byl průběh pandemie. V praktické́ časti jsou představeny vybrané podniky a jejich přístup k lidským zdrojům a vyhodnocuji reálný stav témat obsažených ve vyslovených hypotézách. Práce byla zpracována po pečlivém prostudovaní odborných publikací s danou tématikou. Významným zdrojem informací, především v pandemických tématech, byly on-line zdroje, a to především z důvodu vysokých nároků na aktuálnost reprodukované informace. Pro získání znalostí interního prostředí podniků byla provedena revize volně dostupných informací a dále byla realizována série rozhovorů.

Abstract:

The topic of this Diploma Thesis is the change of HR strategy due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on the effective management of the company, or three selected companies. Human capital is the most relevant factor affecting business performance, at all hierarchical levels. The approach to human resources management and the degree of application of strategic management principles also has a significant impact on the efficiency of the entire enterprise and on the effectiveness of the invested funds as well. The aim of the Diploma thesis is to identify key parts of HR strategies that have a crucial impact on effective management and to define specific measures that will ensure effective management of companies despite the turbulent environment. In the theoretical part of the thesis the topic of personnel strategy and effective management of the company is presented. Furthermore, the Thesis summarizes what the Covid-19 disease is and what the pandemic was like. In the practical part, I present the selected companies and their approach to human resources and evaluate the real state of the topics contained in the stated hypotheses. The Thesis was prepared after a careful study of professional publications on the topic. Significant sources of information, especially on pandemic topics, were online sources, mainly because of the high demands on the timeliness of the reproduced information. To gain knowledge of the internal environment of the companies, a review of freely available information was performed, and a series of interviews were conducted. The materials obtained or created were used only for the preparation of background material or for the preparation of the thesis texts.
