Career paths of graduates of the Faculty of Management

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje absolventům navazujícího magisterského studia, kteří své studium na Fakultě managementu VŠE ukončili v letech 2009 - 2013 a zkoumá jejich profesní uplatnění. Cílem této práce je zjistit, zda mají studijní výsledky absolventů Fakulty managementu vliv na jejich profesní uplatnění. K zodpovězení této otázky je použita metoda komparace, ve které jsou porovnány dvě skupiny respondentů, tyto dvě skupiny respondentů představují dva výzkumné soubory. První skupina je tvořena respondenty, kteří na Fakultě managementu promovali s vynikajícími studijními výsledky, druhá skupina respondentů je pak tvořena absolventy, kteří své studium řádně ukončili s průměrnými studijními výsledky. Data pro oba výše zmíněné výzkumné soubory jsou zjišťována metodou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s vybranými absolventy navazujícího magisterského studia FM. V závěru práce je provedena diskuze o výsledcích výzkumu a jeho možných omezeních.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the graduates of the master study program who successfully finished their studies at the Faculty of Management at the University of Economics in Prague in the years 2009 - 2013 and examines their career path. The purpose of this thesis is to determine whether the study results have an impact on the career path of the graduates. To answer this research question, a comparative method is used to compare two groups of respondents. The first group consists of respondents who graduated at the Faculty of Management with excellent study results and the second group of respondents consists of graduates who finished their studies with average study results. The facts for this research are collected by semi-structured interviews with the selected graduates. The results of the research and it's possibility of limitations are discussed at the end of this thesis.
