Obesity in the past and today

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem práce je problematika obezity, konkrétně to, jak byla a je obezita vnímána v minulosti a dnes. Poukazuje na rozdíly v léčbě, prevalenci a celkovém postoji vůči obezitě. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. První je věnována obezitě v dnešní době. Druhá část popisuje situaci týkající se obezity v průběhu staletí, od pravěku až do 20.století a závěrečnou komparaci.

Abstract:

The main subject of this final work is Obesity, specifically how it was and is perceived in the past and present. It adverts at differences in medication, prevalence and general attitude to obesity. This bachelor work is dividend into two main parts. The first one is devoted to obesity in the present. There are mentioned the basic facts of common knowledge. The second part describes the situation related to obesity during the centuries, from prehistory to 20th century. At the end, there is short comparison of developed informations and conclusions have been drawed.
