Celebrity as Role Models for Children. Case Study of catholic elemantary school Angely Merici and state elementary school Jána Bottu.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out what celebrities do the children of 11-13 years of age identify with as with referential role models, what kind of parasocial relationship is between them and what values do these children take from celebrities and how they are dependent on the religiosity of respondents. The theoretical part of this work is based on the theory of social learning, parasocial interaction and identity. The research sample of 121 respondents was as a case study examined by quantitative simulated survey and qualitative method of interpretative reading according to Jane Kronick. The questionnaire is focused on the identification with reference model, parasocial relationships and values in relation to the level of religiosity and interpretative reading of essays of respondents carries out deeper analysis of the research topic.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je zistiť s akými celebritami sa ako s referenčnými vzormi identifikujú deti vo veku 11-13 rokov, aká povaha parasociálnych vzťahov medzi nimi vzniká a aké hodnoty deti od týchto celebrít preberajú a ako sú závislé od religiozity respondentov. Práca v teoretickej časti vychádza z teórie sociálneho učenia, parasociálnej interakcie a identity. Výskumná vzorka 121 respondentov bola ako prípadová štúdia skúmaná kvantitatívnym simulovaným survey a kvalitatívnou metódou interpretatívneho čítania podľa Jane Kronick. Dotazníkové šetrenie sa zameriava na identifikáciu s referenčným vzorom, parasociálne vzťahy a hodnoty vo vzťahu k miere religiozity a interpretatívne čítanie slohov respondentov hlbšie analyzuje skúmanú tému.
