Anotace:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá skupinou básníků zvaných „The Movement (Hnutí)“ a z větší části literární skupinou zvanou „rozhněvaní mladí muži“, kteří se objevili v padesátých letech ve Velké Británii. Práce přináší pohled na společenské pozadí Británie po druhé světové válce a v padesátých letech. Vznik Hnutí a později i rozhněvaných mladých mužů byl reakcí na určitá problematická témata britské společnosti. Mladí autoři vyjádřili svou nespokojenost skrze poezii, prózu a drama. Práce poskytuje obraz britské společnosti na ukázkách z vybraných děl rozhněvaných mladých mužů. Dále se práce zabývá odkazem rozhněvaných mladých mužů, což je chápáno jako vliv, který měli na kulturu v padesátých letech i později. Tato část práce se zaměřuje na filmové adaptace literárních děl rozhněvaných mladých mužů. Tyto adaptace započaly vznik tzv. „britské nové vlny“ v oblasti britské kinematografie.

Abstract:

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the group of writers called the Movement and for the greater part with the literary group called the Angry Young Men who emerged in the Nineteen-Fifties in Great Britain. The thesis provides some facts on the social background in Britain after World War II and in the Nineteen-Fifties. The emergence of the Movement and later of the Angry Young Men was a reaction on certain problematic issues in British society. The young authors showed their discontent through their literary works of poetry, prose, and drama. The thesis provides the examples from selected literary works of the Angry Young Men reflecting British society. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the legacy of the Angry Young Men which is actually the influence they had on culture from the Nineteen-Fifties onwards. This part of the thesis focuses on the adaptations of the books of the Angry Young Men for the cinema, which initiated the so-called British New Wave of the British cinema.
