Sliznice jícnu je osídlena komplexním souborem mikroorganismů. V nedávných studiích byly prokázány značné změny ve složení ezofageální mikroflóry, a to především při gastroezofageální refluxní chorobě (GERD) oproti fyziologickému stavu.
