Project-based Learning and eLearning Course of Hardware for Primary Schools

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce byla zacílena na výuku hardwaru PC pro základní školu projektovým stylem výuky. Žáci se rozdělili do skupin, kdy každá skupina dostala určitý typ hardwaru, o kterém zpracovala informace a přednesla ostatním následující hodinu. Takto se žáci informovali o hardwaru PC navzájem a spolupracovali mezi skupinami. Jako výzkumný subjekt byla vybrána 6. třída základní školy Aloise Jiráska v Dolní Lutyni. Pro výzkum e-learningovým způsobem byl vytvořen kurz v prostředí LMS Moodle, ke kterému měli žáci přístup po celou dobu trvání výuky. Kurz byl v první hodině probrán se žáky ve třídě a následující hodinu si připravili velmi zdařilé prezentace, ve kterých byly informace o probraném hardwaru. Veškeré informace čerpali z materiálů v kurzu. Evaluace diplomové práce proběhla pomocí Kirkpatrickova modelu evaluace vzdělávání. Z dotazníků rozeslaným nezávislým respondentům před kurzem vyplynulo, že je vhodný k výuce. Dotazník vyplněný žáky po zvládnutí kurzu prokázal, že tento způsob výuky je velmi zaujal a chtěli by v něm pokračovat i v jiných předmětech. Z testu, který žáci po výuce vyplnili, vyplynulo, že si zapamatovali většinu učiva, které probírali v kurzu. Všechen výukový materiál zůstal na LMS Moodle ZŠ Aloise Jiráska, kde díky aktuálnosti všech údajů bude sloužit jako výuková pomůcka lektorům IT.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the education of computer hardware in an elementary school with the use of the project method of teaching. Students were divided into groups and each of them was given a certain type of hardware to do research on and to prepare a presentation about it in the next class. Thus, the students were informed about the computer hardware by each other, and cooperation between groups were encouraged. As a test subject, a sixth grade class from the Elementary School of Alois Jirásek in Dolní Lutyně was chosen. For the e-learning method of research, a course was created in LMS Moodle system to which students were given access for the whole duration of tuition. The course was discussed with students during the first class, and in the second class, they prepared excellent presentations about a piece of computer hardware that was chosen for the day. All the information they used was based on materials of the course. The evaluation of the diploma thesis was made with the use of the Kirkpatrick?s Learning Evaluation Model. Before the start of the course, the independent respondents agreed on the applicability of this teaching method. The students stated in a questionnaire that they liked the method and they would be interested in using it in other classes. Based on the final quiz, students remembered most of the information that had been discussed during the course. All learning materials were left in the LMS Moodle system of the Elementary School of Alois Jirásek, and due to the fact all the provided information are up-to-date, it can serve as a teaching tool for IT educators.
