Analysis of activity of public benefit organizations in the field of paraplegia care in the Pilsen region

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je problematika obecně prospěšných společností, které vyvíjí činnost na území Plzeňského kraje v oblasti péče o paraplegiky. Cílem je popsat stav a rozvoj obecně prospěšných společností ve zvoleném regionu a zjistit zda svými činnostmi řeší efektivně začlenění paraplegiků do běžného života. První část definuje pojem občanský sektor a zdůvodňuje předpoklady pro existenci neziskových organizací. Druhá část vymezuje neziskový sektor v rámci národního hospodářství a specifikuje obecně prospěšné společnosti v rámci současného neziskového sektoru. Třetí část se věnuje historii neziskového sektoru, na kterou navazují informace o aktuálním stavu. Čtvrtá část mapuje konkrétní obecně prospěšné společnosti působící v rámci Plzeňského kraje a definuje činnosti, kterými se při péči o paraplegiky zabývají. V páté, stěžejní, části bakalářské práce je zachycen, prostřednictvím řízených rozhovorů se zástupci obecně prospěšných společností, aktuální stav a problémy, které tyto společnosti při výkonu svých činností pociťují. Pozornost je také věnována vzájemným vztahům s ostatními subjekty národního hospodářství, jako jsou krajské orgány, soukromé firmy, domácnosti a klienti.

Abstract:

The subject of this thesis is an analysis of the activity of public benefit organizations operating within the Pilsen region in the field of paraplegia care. The aim is to describe the situation and the development of public benefit organizations in selected region and determine, whether their activities work effectively in integrating paraplegics into the common life. The first part defines the concept of non-profit sector and justifies the conditions for existence of non-profit organizations. The second part defines the non-profit sector within the national economy and discusses public benefit organizations in the current non-profit sector. The third part deals with the history of non-profit sector, followed by the relevant information with regards to the current situations. The fourth part maps the specific companies involved in the Pilsen region and defines their activities when dealing with the paraplegics. The fifth and most essential part of the thesis then deals with current state and problems that these organizations have to face on day to day bases, identified through a set of interviews with representatives of selected organizations. Attention is also paid to the relationships with other economic entities, such as regional authorities, companies, households and clients.
